GENEVA, March 9. /TASS/. The World Health Organization is ‘incredibly supportive’ of electronic vaccination certificates, but attaches great importance to how they might be used, Director of the WHO Department of Immunization, Vaccines and Biologicals Kate O’Brien said on Monday.
We are incredibly supportive of electronic vaccination certificates for a number of reasons, she told reporters, adding that such certificates can contain information about the medicine that was used and, therefore, facilitate assessment programs on safety and effectiveness of vaccines. ....

Senior official at the World Health Organization (WHO) has warned about the risk of continued transmission of COVID-19 in the future even after large-scale vaccinations.
Executive director of the WHO Health Emergencies Programme Michael Ryan said that he doesn t believe that the world should start setting elimination or eradication of this coronavirus as success.
Ryan said,
That is not the bar for success. The bar for success is reducing the capacity of this virus to kill, to put people in hospital, to destroy our economic and social lives. ....

The second year of the coronavirus pandemic could be more difficult than the first one over the transmission dynamics, Executive Director of the WHO Health Emergencies Programme Michael Ryan said.
We are going into the second year, this could be tougher given the transmission dynamics and some issues we see, Ryan said during a Q&A session on late Wednesday.
