MONTREAL, April 27 (Reuters) - The Canadian province of Quebec on Tuesday reported the first death of a patient from the AstraZeneca vaccine due to clotting.
Public Health Director Horacio Arruda told reporters the death of the patient, a 54-year-old woman, will not change the province s vaccination strategy.

One day after issuing a “don’t panic” message, while maintaining plans to ease restrictions, the Quebec government announced Wednesday that in critical zones where there is an “explosion” of new COVID-19 infections, new restrictions will be imposed for 10 days.
The affected areas include: the Quebec City region, Chaudière Appalaches south of the capital, the Lower St. Lawrence and the Outaouais, including Gatineau, across the Ottawa River from Ottawa, and will move from the orange zone to the red zone.  ....
