MANILA - The country's second case of monkeypox has been discharged from home isolation, the Department of Health (DOH) said Friday. In a media briefing, DOH Officer in Charge, Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, said the second case - a 31-year-old Filipino who tested positive on August 18 was seen by a physician and was declared "recovered" on August 31. The case's signed clearance certificate was issued on Thursday. Vergeire noted that the patient's 18 close contacts were all asymptomatic for the rest of their quarantine period.
