Health Secretary Francisco Duque III MANILA - The Philippines is one of the Asean countries that have logged the lowest number of daily new confirmed Covid-19 cases, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said Tuesday night. In his presentation to President Rodrigo Duterte, Duque noted that the Philippines only logs 3.45 new infections for every 1 million individuals per day as of March 28. The Philippines is followed by Cambodia with 3.61 cases; Myanmar with 4.52; and Indonesia, with 17.82. MANILA - New coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases in the National Capital Region (NCR) and other parts of the country are on the decline, although the pace is slowing down. In an online media forum, Department of Health Epidemiology Bureau officer-in-charge Director Dr. Alethea De Guzman noted the NCR logged 770 new daily cases for the week Oct. 26 to Nov. 1, which is 14 percent lower than 898 average cases from October 19 to 25. The 898 cases were also 36 percent lower than the 1,405 recorded October 12-18.
