MANILA - Malacanang on Thursday said it recognizes that "more" needs to be done to help lift Filipinos out of poverty after a survey showed that the number of Filipinos who consider their families as "poor" has slightly increased to 10.9 million. Results of the recent Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showed that 43 percent of the 1,440 respondents considered their families poor. This figure is similar to the 43 percent who said their families were poor in a survey conducted last December, but the SWS said the number increased from 10.7 to 10.9 million.
