Dumaguete residents assured of faster water service restoration

Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer, who now sits as acting governor, said some 13 departments and offices, which comprise almost the entire Capitol, have confirmed Covid-19 cases. "We decided, together with Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II, to close the Provincial Capitol for disinfection to stop or minimize the spread of the infection," he said in an interview. 'Odette' forces work suspension at NegOr Capitol

Roel Degamo on Thursday ordered the work stoppage at the Capitol beginning noon amid the threat of Typhoon Odette that has begun to bring heavy rains and strong winds in the province. In an advisory issued through the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) and posted on social media, Degamo said the suspension of work is "to prevent loss of life or bodily harm (and) ensuring the safety of all".
