ALBANY, N.Y. â On Saturday, the Albany Symphony Orchestra performs its final concert of what they termed âThe Reimagined 2020-2021 Season.â
Last spring, after cancelling the remaking concerts of the 2019-2020 season, they changed the entire announced season, for 2020-2021.
They substituted works of smaller sized orchestras. They found ways to rehearse and perform in socially distant ways, while adhering to all safety protocols. The season looked more like chamber orchestra programming than a full-symphonic orchestra.

David Alan Miller, Music Director and conductor of the ASO believes it was a major accomplishment just to put on six concerts. That they were of high quality and greatly supported by his subscriber base and the public-at-large was an added bonus. âThe challenge was in doing, and we did it.â
