Clean-up takes place in Earlesfield area of Grantham

The district council says residents are enjoying an improved environment thanks to its clean-up work at a South Kesteven housing estate.
Two weeks of work has taken place on streets, green areas and block-paved courts in the Earlesfield area of Grantham. It was part of South Kesteven District Councilâs continuing programme to improve the local surroundings for residents.

Cabinet member for housing and planning, Councillor Robert Reid, said: âThis work will have a big impact for residents, as the before and after photos show.
âIt also fits in with delivering a key SKDC priority of maintaining a clean and sustainable environment, laying foundations for the future by making the whole area a more desirable place to live. ....

Could Target Replace Macy's in Water Tower Place? Speculation Sparks Mixed Reactions

A spokesperson from Brookfield Properties, which owns Water Tower Place, said they have yet to confirm future plans for the location and any public discussion is purely speculative.
In order for any location to come to Water Tower Place, the spokesperson said the vision would need support from the Mayor s office, Alderman s office, Tax Assessor s office, the Mag Mile Association and the local community.
Although some Chicagoans have said Target could be a convenient choice for a storefront on Michigan Avenue, residents like Cook County Treasurer Maria Pappas said the department store just doesn t fit.
There s nothing elitist about this. This is just simply saying, Please don t sell celery and carrots in Water Tower, Pappas said. It is a magnificent structure. ....

• A Calvin Street man reported that kids damaged his siding with BB guns on Jan. 4.
• A 14-year-old Springfield High School student reportedly walked behind a 13-year-old student on Jan. 13 and struck him multiple times with punches to the head. The younger student was able to block the punches and parents were notified. On the same day, two girls also got into a fight with a 14-year-old throwing punches.
• On Jan. 15, a woman was reported to taking funds out of her friend’s bank account using the Zelle app.
• A woman reported that a friend damaged her blinds by trying to set them on fire on Jan. 17. The man was arrested for criminal damaging. ....

Intruder Identified In Burglary At Greene County Home

We now know the name of the intruder who was shot and killed after breaking into a home in Greene County last week.
Ryan Altman was from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
He was 37.
The Greene County Sheriff says Altman broke into the home in the 6300-block of West Hawthorn Court and attacked the homeowner before he was shot.
The home is near Willard Central Elementary school.
Two others inside the home were not hurt.
The incident is still under investigation. ....

Burglary Suspect Killed At Home Near Willard Elementary School

The Greene County Sheriff says a man who broke into a home in the 6000-block of West Hawthorn Court is dead.
Deputies say the man attacked the homeowner before he was killed.
The home is in the Meadows subdivision near Willard Central Elementary.
Deputies did not say how the man was killed.
Two other people inside the home were not hurt.
