Those cases reflect tests through Sunday, the state Department of Health wrote in a press release Tuesday afternoon. The electronic laboratory reporting system was then interrupted, officials said, but did not specify for how long or what caused the system error.
The state “anticipates a ‘rebound’ effect of increased case numbers over the next few days as feeds are re-established,” a spokesperson wrote.
The 17 cases recorded Tuesday included 13 on Oahu, three on Maui, and one resident diagnosed out of state.

Hawaii health officials reported 116 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, including 82 on Oahu, 19 on Maui, eight on the Big Island, one on Kauai and six residents diagnosed out of state.
The official state death toll from the virus is 407.
Lt. Gov. Josh Green is proposing a new plan for reopening the state, as vaccinations for the coronavirus continue to ramp up. Green wants the state to open interisland travel to people who are fully vaccinated once the state has finished most vaccinations in phase 1b of the rollout.

Health officials reported 89 new COVID-19 cases statewide on Monday, including 62 on Oahu, nine on Maui, four on the Big Island, and 14 Hawaii residents diagnosed out of state.
To date, 22,045 people in Hawaii have been diagnosed with COVID-19, including 1,598 in the past two weeks.
The nationwide COVID-19 death toll surpassed 350,000 on Sunday, with more than 20.5 million coronavirus cases confirmed, according to Johns Hopkins University.

Health officials reported 171 new COVID-19 cases statewide on Saturday, including 92 on Oahu, 47 in Maui County, 20 on the Big Island, two on Kauai and 10 residents who were diagnosed out of the state.
To date, 21,807 people in Hawaii have been diagnosed with COVID-19, including 1,736 in the past two weeks. Two Maui cases were removed from the official count as a result of updated information.
Nationwide, the number of people confirmed to have COVID-19 rose above 20 million, with 349,521 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University.
