In advance of the RecruitNY weekend, FASNY is urging residents, businesses and municipalities to change their outdoor lights to red to highlight the need for volunteer firefighters. The "Fire Up New York Red" lighting campaign will start on April 1.
Nearly 200 volunteer firefighters from 25 departments from across the state gathered at SUNY Cortland to compete in such events as tubing, sled-pull, stokes basket carry, hose races, tug-of-war and broomball. The games took place from Friday through Sunday.
