Head of the Constabulary Communication Unit (CCU), Senior Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay has said the ongoing conflict between gangs from Tivoli Gardens and their former cronies in Denham Town is the continuation of an age-old conflict over turf and extortion.
Sections of west Kingston have been under the gun as the rivals take every opportunity to fire their illegal weapons, taking lives and injuring others in the process.
“Most of the conflict is between the Young Generation gang of Tivoli and gangs in Denham Town. What the investigation has shown so far is that the main reason behind the gang conflict so far is really to dominate the turf because of the proceeds from extortion. The different gangs are fighting for the same space,” SSP Lindsay said in an interview with ....

'Harry Dog', Dudus' 'ex-lieutenant', shot dead in West Kingston

McLeod was 51 years old.
Reports are that about 7:50 am, McLeod, widely known as ‘Harry Dog’, who was a labourer of Tivoli Gardens, was standing along the roadway when a silver motorcar with several men aboard drove up.
The men opened gunfire on McLeod before making good their escape.
McLeod was assisted to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Some five years ago, McLeod was acquitted of several criminal charges including larceny, receiving a stolen motor vehicle and forgery in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court.
The charges against McLeod arose after the vehicle in question was allegedly found in Tivoli Gardens with some 4,000 rounds of ammunition in it during the May 2010 operation to apprehend Coke, who was then wanted in the United States on drugs and gunrunning charges. ....
