According to Stephanie Betant, country head of Wholesale Banking at HSBC Vietnam, there is a momentum building up worldwide of environmental and climate risks being regarded and managed alongside any other financial risks â and as a result, the demand for green credit rises. The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) said that the country currently has 31 financial institutions involved in green credit, with total credit of more than VND285 trillion ($12.4 billion), mainly on green agriculture and renewable energy. ....

Compared with the rest of ASEAN, Vietnam ranked the highest on the index with a score of 62.4, well ahead of Malaysia (53.8), Singapore (52.7), Thailand (52.0) and Indonesia (49.6), out of a maximum possible score of 100. Derived from the Bankâs UOB ASEAN Consumer Sentiment Study, the report measures how concerned consumers are about rising COVID-19 infections, continued restrictions on gatherings and travel, the economic impact of the pandemic, and their personal financial well-being and outlook. ....
