In a virtual interview that took place hours before she was arrested in California, Miya Ponsetto, 22, snapped Enough! at
CBS This Morning host Gayle King as she held a defiant hand in the air.
On December 26, Ponsetto was seen on camera approaching a Black teen and his father, jazz musician Keyon Harrold, in the lobby of NYC s Arlo Hotel.
Ponsetto accused the 14-year-old boy, Keyon Harrold Jr., of stealing her phone, ultimately tackling him in an attempt to get the phone from him. (Her missing phone was later found at the hotel.)
Harrold captured the alleged assault in a one-minute video; it was also seen on the hotel s surveillance camera. ....

Gayle King Snapped at By 'SoHo Karen' in Viral Interview Hours Before Woman's Arrest

Gayle King s latest interview has many people talking. The
CBS This Morning co-host interviewed Miya Ponsetto, a 22-year-old woman who allegedly attacked a 14-year-old Black teen, and falsely accused him of stealing her phone at a hotel in New York.
During their interview, Ponsetto who has since been arrested snapped at King while getting flustered attempting to answer a question.
All right Gayle, enough, Ponsetto said, raising her hand and motioning King to stop questioning her. Her lawyer, Sharen H. Ghatan, who was at her side, whispered for Ponsetto to stop talking.
Security video allegedly showed Ponsetto attacking 14-year-old Keyon Harrold Jr. from behind at Manhattan s Arlo Hotel and tackling him to the ground. The teen s father, Keyon Harrold Sr., also recorded the incident and put the video online. ....

In a phone call, attorney Sharon Ghatan, who is representing 22-year-old Miya Ponsetto in an unrelated case, confirmed her client was the woman who lunged at and tackled Keyon Harrold Jr. in the lobby at the Arlo SoHo, an upscale boutique hotel in New York City. Harrold, who is Black, has suggested that racial bias played a role in the Dec. 26 incident.
“Things took a life of their own,” Ghatan said. “Miya is young, she let her emotions get the best of her. That phone could have been in hand of 90-year-old grandma, an Asian person. someone Black or blue. ....

NYPD joining California search for woman who wrongly accused teen of stealing her phone at SoHo hotel

SOHO, Manhattan Officers from the NYPD will travel to California Wednesday in search of the woman seen on video wrongly accusing a 14-year-old Black teenager of taking her phone.
According to NYPD officials, two officers from the NYPD s Manhattan South detective bureau will be traveling across the country in search of Miya Ponsetto.
The trip comes as the Manhattan District Attorney s office considers criminal charges against Ponsetto.
Ponsetto is the woman seen in the December 26 video, wrongly accusing 14-year-old Keyon Harrold Jr. of stealing her phone and then assaulting the teen.
Over the weekend, civil rights activists gathered outside LAPD North Hollywood Police Station to call for her arrest. ....
