Mathura - Miss Universe Great Britain 2023, Jessica Page, visited the Wildlife SOS Elephant Conservation and Care Centre in Mathura for a conservation education tour and met the elephants under the NGO’s care. The delegation included other participants from the beauty pageant, making the visit a meaningful step in collaborating with celebrities regarding raising awareness The only way to train an elephant to enable tourist rides is through keeping the elephant in constant pain and fear.
Jessica, a 27-year-old marketing manager and aspiring entrepreneur from Liverpool, England led the delegation. The visit was aimed at raising awareness against the abuse of Asian elephants in India.
Alisha Cowie, 23, from County Durham, overcame the odds after being taunted by classmates which caused her to restrict her eating until she weighed just six stone, aged 13.
