Police have launched an appeal POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information about an assault that occurred in the car park of a supermarket in York. The incident happened at around 2.35pm on Saturday April 17 at the Morrisons store in Layerthorpe - and involved a man assaulting another man by kicking him. A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and identify the suspect. He is described as mid to late 30s, tall and slim, white with a southern accent. He had a number of moles on his face, and short dark hair with a receding hair line. At the time of the assault he was wearing a grey hoodie without zips and blue/grey jeans that were bootleg style.
North Yorkshire Police have launched the appeal POLICE have arrested a suspect and recovered a number of cycles stolen from a secure compound in York. The theft happened at 8.20pm on February 6 at Bootham Green off Newborough Street in the city, and involved suspects wearing dark clothing taking bikes from the compound. One suspect was located nearby on a Scott mountain bike and arrested. He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue. All of the bikes have been recovered and are in the process of being returned to their owners, with the exception of the Scott mountain bike. Officers would like to locate the owner of this bike.
