On the icy highways as jeff was talking about. they re working to get portions of i-95 reopened right now. nbc news meteorologist bill karins has more on the storm and travel delays. 75% of the country covered in snow, can t be much better today. it s a little worse because the snow we justadded in the mid-atlantic. especially in connecticut and portions of western massachusetts. those are the areas that people will remember the storm for decades to come. the storm currently moving out into the gulf of maine and the heaviest snow now north of boston along the maine coast and heavier bands back by harford and as far as the worst of it, fairfield county and areas from har ford and new britain and this area on saturday picked up a foot of snow. i heard reports of 20 to 24 inches with this one. they picked up over three feet of snow in a little over four days. i mean, they just don t have ....

Into the mid-atlantic right now. light freezing rain, light snowfall and that storm combining with this one back out in the midwest, that is going to mean trouble for the northeast, particularly overnight tonight and into the day tomorrow. we re going to see this area of low pressure slide up the coast. the farther north and east you go, the gustier the winds we re going to find, the more snow that is going to fall. and probably overnight tonight into tomorrow here around new york city, we re going to find some heavy snowfall and the same here around boston, too. throughout the day we ll see that snow really come down quite heavily and wind gusts could reach up to 50 miles an hour. no blizzard warnings out just yet, but scattered blizzard conditions and snow falling to the tune of 10 to 15 inches around new york and harford. one to two feet around portions of southern and northern new england throughout the day tomorrow. as you mentioned, travel is going to be a big-time concern. alrea ....

The white is the snow. really new york city. philadelphia, you look like you re done after picking up a quick inch or dwo. but the airports are starting to pick up significant delays. two and a half hours in newark, and one and a half in laguardia. i want to show you new york city, the white is the snow, the blue is moderate to heavy snow. new york city is getting the heaviest of the snow right now and this probably in the next hour or two is when it will accumulate the most right around the five boroughs of new york. then it will pass a little bit to the northeast, up into connecticut. our computers are projecting two to four inches. what has changed a little bit, it looks like a little bit of snow tomorrow morning around d.c. so, we ve added two inches for you and we ve also added and upped the totals in southern new england. looks like saturday night into sunday morning the storm backs in off the ocean and we re going to pick up some accumulating snow in boston and harford and maybe ....
