One year later, Laredo has finally started to see the light of the end of the tunnel as it comes to the coronavirus pandemic.
March 16 marked the first confirmed case of the novel coronavirus, and since that fateful day, Laredoans have experienced a year that could never have been imagined. Schools, parks and nonessential businesses were shuttered, and friends and families were forced to socially distance in respect to a deadly virus whose effects were not truly known at the time.
While much more is known about its spread and vaccines have begun to make their way into the arms of Laredoans, the physical and psychological effects of the virus and the resulting pandemic will be felt for many months, maybe years, into the future. ....
