The ACTION Program is publishing a second edition of their book, “The Cancer Crisis in Appalachia: Kentucky Students Take ACTION,” after their first edition was released in 2020.
A new photo exhibit in the Healthy Kentucky Research Building features the work of 25 high school and UK undergraduate students from the UK Markey Cancer Center’s Appalachian Career Training in Oncology (ACTION) Program. The photovoice project was intended to encourage Appalachian Kentucky youth to consider determinants of cancer and visualize the effects that cancer has on their families or communities.
