Well another draft has come and gone and like anything in football, we can all complain or praise the draft, but in the end we won t really know how good or bad this year s draft is until 3 to 4 years down the road. So here are my impressions.
Round 1 - Patrick Surtain, CB While I think this was a safe pick it either speaks to the fact that the Broncos really were targeting Trey Lance, or they really feel like they can swing a deal for Aaron Rogers in a few months. Surtain was the best CB in this draft IMO, however, I don t think there was that much difference separating his potential from day 2 picks at CB. I think he had the best game film of any CB in the class but I also think he may be maxed out on potential. I see him as a solid player but not elite like a Patrick Peterson, Champ Bailey or Dion Sanders. I may be off on that, but since he got to play and practice a

21. Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, linebacker, Notre Dame
Height, weight: 6-foot-1, 216 pounds.
His frame and play style in many ways resemble a smaller Isaiah Simmons.
22. Azeez Ojulari, edge rusher, Georgia
Height, weight: 6-foot-3, 240 pounds.
Ojulari’s frame and skillset makes him almost like a clone of Yannick Ngakoue.

This is kind of my maybe best case scenario draft. I will spare the free agent signings, but here s a maybe unicorn draft, although I think is doable.
Pick 9 - Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State- So you say no way he falls here, maybe not. But there are some nasty rumors going around that he has problems reading defenses, that may be chatter from other teams trying to get him to fall. Similar to the Dan Marino pot rumors. And while maybe is unlikely he falls, I could see a scenario where teams don t rate him as highly due to limited career in college and coming out of the Urban Meyer system which hasn t had a great track record in the NFL. That being said, he does appear to have everything you would like in a QB regarding touch, ability to throw guys open, scrambling ability, and making plays on the run. That being said, he does seem to have some issues with pocket aware
