Leonard “Lenny” Kaplan, a popular figure in Baltimore’s restaurant scene for decades who had owned The Owl Bar and the Polo Grill, died Saturday at his home at The Colonnade in North Baltimore. He was 85.

Louis Sylvester Diggs, a historian of Baltimore County’s Black communities and a retired schools personnel officer, died Oct. 24 at Northwest Hospital Center. The former Catonsville resident was 90.
