Halifax Health this month is expected to open three ExpressCare clinics, which will provide care for non-life-threatening medical conditions in Ormond Beach, Daytona Beach Shores and Deltona. A fourth location in the new Belvedere Park in Port Orange is scheduled to open this fall. In total, the four facilities will provide an additional 40 jobs to the community. “ExpressCare is just another way of increasing access to medical care for non-life-threatening conditions in the area we serve, said Halifax Health President and CEO Jeff Feasel in a press release. Halifax Health spokesman John Guthrie could not provide specific opening dates for each of the facilities. ....
Halifax Health s urgent care center in Daytona Beach Shores, the only facility of its kind on the beachside, will officially open for business on July 1, according to the city. Until then, the hospital system will complete training for staff members, install equipment and perfect practices, according to hospital spokesman John Guthrie. The new facility, which is called ExpressCare, has created an additional 10 jobs in the Daytona Beach Shores community, according to the hospital system. Halifax Health is committed to increasing access to health care for everyone in the area, said Halifax Health President and CEO Jeff Feasel in an emailed statement. By working with the City of Daytona Beach Shores we have been able to do that on the beachside with this newest ExpressCare. In addition to the Daytona Beach Shores location, we will have ExpressCare in Port Orange, Ormond Beach and Deltona.” ....
Mar 17, 2021 4:23 PM Daytona Beach, FL - Preliminary numbers show that 150 people were admitted as trauma alerts to Halifax Health during Bike Week 2021. Over the ten-day period, 91 of the admitted patients were directly related to Bike Week. That s compared to the average of 62 admissions over the last four years, a more than 30 percent increase, During the ten-day period, the trauma team was activated 97 times. Fourteen of the patients were passengers, and just under half of the patients were wearing helmets. According to Lindsay Martin, RN and Director of Nursing, “our community saw an unusual number of total patients needing trauma care during Bike Week. We had more than the usual amount of accidents at home and work places. At one point we had four patients needing trauma care at the same time.” Halifax Health has the only trauma center in Volusia County and Flagler County and partners with the Volusia Sheriff’s Department ....
