We get the lowdown on the McHale Fusion 3 Plus baler-wrapper run by Powys contractor Paul Brute of DS, DA & PD Brute, Gwndwnwal Farm, Llan-Talyllyn, Brecon.
What made you choose a McHale baler-wrapper?
We have stuck with McHale and our local dealer Western Farm Services since switching from John Deere belt balers to Fusions in 2003.
We had one of the first Fusion 2 Plus film-on-film baler-wrappers in the country in 2013. That gave us a taste of film-only wrapping and we haven’t looked back – compression is better, bales are heavier, and there is less spoilage.

John Deere 6910 with 12,000 hours makes €30,000 at Carlow auction

This 2001 John Deere 6910 with 12,000 hours sold for €30,000 plus VAT and commission.
On Friday 5 March, Michael Doyle Auctions held an online machinery auction.
The auction consisted of over 250 entries, most of which were from local farmers. An 80% clearance rate was achieved on the evening.
Bidding took place online via the Marteye app. Doyle explained that the auction saw over 452 registered bidders, with a further 2,500 onlookers tuning in to watch online.
Similar to his last number of online sales, Doyle scheduled the auction to kick off in the evening (6pm). The lots on offer included a selection of tractors, farm machinery, tools, plant and livestock equipment. Commission was charged at a rate of 10% for items sold below €1,000 and 5% for items sold above €1,000. ....
