Known as a major tourist destination and for its large agricultural sector, Sabah has great potential for halal industry, said Halal Development Corporation Berhad (HDC). HDC Chief Executive Officer Hairol Ariffein Sahari said Sabah’s strategic location also provides easy access to countries with large markets, in line with the targets outlined in the HDC plan as the corporation is actively involved in the government-to-government initiatives with East Asian countries namely Korea and Japan. “The halal industry can raise productivity, enhance the people’s socio-economic well-being and contribute to national growth through halal trade, investments and job opportunities,” he said in his speech at the Sabah Halal Malaysia Road Tour (JHM) 2021 closing ceremony, here ....
