The relations between the United States and russia have been problems for sometime. I dont think this particular use of sanctions right now is going to make things qualitatively worse. I think in certain ways the russian interference in the election, the fact they had a clear preference for donald trump over Hillary Clinton is indicative that they see these relations are not going well and they wanted to try to set them right by getting a more friendly government in power in washington and obviously the current government in washington didnt like that kind of interfere ....
