Wokha, Oct. 15 (EMN): Old Riphyim Village Gazetted Officers’ Forum (ORGOF) organised a three-day awareness campaign and field registration under Nagaland Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board (NBOCWWB) from October 13 to the 15th at Mt. Morashen Hall in Old Riphyim Village under Wokha district. Speaking at the inaugural function, the chairman of NBOCWWB, Dr. Kekhrie Yhome, informed that 1283 villages have been recognised by the government of Nagaland. Describing India as a welfare state, he stated many schemes are being implemented for social security and benefits of the public. He encouraged the construction workers to put in effort with sincerity and dedication and also take their profession to greater level in order to attain self-sufficiency. Also speaking on the occasion, Hachio Patton, senior personal secretary to the deputy chief minister, has expressed gratitude to the department for their tireless effort towards the benefits and welfare of the people. ....
Our Correspondent Wokha, 3 June (EMN): The first official tour of ‘About Us,’ organised by Acoustic Club Wokha, was held at Tiyi Hall in Wokha on June 3. Formed in the year 2019, About ‘Us’ is an Indian ‘Experimental Melodic Hard Rock’ from Nagaland. Hachio Patton, Senior PS to Deputy Chief Minister was the chief patron and Additional Commissioner Lankonsen T. Tsanglao was the chief host. The band was also felicitated prior to the concert at Town hall in Wokha. During the concert, After 20’s, an all girls rock band from Wokha also performed their debut concert and Giedion Kithan, a sensational seven-year-old guitarist performed as supporting act during the concert. Around 2000 fans came to witness the first ever live appearance in Wokha. K. Edward Ngullie, the band manager of About Us, informed that the band will be heading to Mokokchung on June 21 to perform at the World Music day and at Dimapur on June 25. The Wokha based acoustic club will be managing the concert for the band ‘About Us’ as part of their promotional tour which will kick start from Wokha on June 3 from 5 pm onwards. This was informed by Acoustic Club President Nzanbemo Patton during a press conference held at Hotel Morashen in Wokha on May 23. The band has won the hearts of many rock lovers since they dropped their first original ‘Gimme Gimme’. Patton said, ‘this is not just a concert but a celebration of a breakthrough and achievement in the field of music.’ He said that the concert would be held in collaboration with the District Administration, Wokha with Deputy Commissioner Orenthung Lotha as the chief host together with Sr. PS to Deputy Chief Minister GON Hachio Pat ....
