Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has counselled that it is time for the country to move from think-tanks to do-tanks as he called for ways to unlock the mystery of failed or poorly implemented policies and projects.
He made the declaration while inaugurating the Senior Executive Course 43 of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).
“So, your task is already well cut out for you. This is a body of knowledge that is desperately needed today,” he said.

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) on Monday disclosed that private universities, polytechnics and colleges of education in the country are already accessing its N7.5 billion National Research Fund (NRF) for the purpose of bolstering the conduct of cutting-edge research.
The Executive Secretary of TETFund, Prof. Suleiman Bogoro, who made the revelation while declaring open a four-day meeting of TETFund Research and Development Standing Committee (RDSC), said the breakthrough came two years after the Board of Trustees granted the approval for private institutions to draw from the funds.
Bogoro said since the inauguration of the TETFund RDSC on September 24, 2020, the committee has gone far in implementing President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive to support government initiatives of responding to the threat of Covid-19 through ground-breaking research on phyto-medical drugs, prophylactics and vaccines.

December, 2019: Abuja, Nigeria. I penned down my plan for 2020. I was jubilant in the last week of that month, announcing my plans, building a support base for a new initiative I was putting together to forge an alliance between African private and public universities. Everyone I met was happy both with me and my plans. When I bade farewell on December 23, it was with firm assurances and a fixed date for my return journey to this elegant city. So confident, so excited, we were to link Abuja with Nairobi and to take the same mission to Ghana, Kenya, and Uganda. Yet it was not to be. An
