‘Private institutions that charge hefty fee will be dealt with sternly’
Students of a private college have given a written complaint to Andhra Pradesh School Education Regulatory and Monitoring Commission (APSERMC) over the lack of facilities like laboratories, library and playground.
The college representatives were in jitters when the students also mentioned that they had paid ₹1.30 lakh as fee for the infrastructure. When abstaining contract faculty members are replaced by new ‘graduates’ on a daily basis, the students also complained of missing out on continuity in lessons. ....

Several Andhra Pradesh State government employees associations representatives are expressing concern over the Election Notification issued by the State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar and have threatened to boycott the Panchayat elections duties and if needed would also call for a state-wide strike.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, several leaders of various government and teacher unions, including the AP NGO Association and the AP Government Employees Union have said that, conducting Panchayat elections was not possible at this juncture when the threat of Coronavirus was still looming large and found fault with the SEC over the release of the notification. ....

Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh) [India], January 22 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh School Education Regulatory and Monitoring Commission (APSERMC) has found several violations of rules by the junior college managements during sudden inspections in Krishna District.
During a press conference, APSERMC Chairman, Justice Kantha Rao said, The state government had released an order based on our recommendation that private junior colleges and schools should reduce the tuition fee by 30 per cent paid in the previous academic year and it should be collected in installments only.
Educational institutions are not following the orders and collecting exorbitant fees. The violations are observed in the physical inspection of colleges. Most of the colleges don t have basic amenities and hostel and infrastructure facilities are the worst. ....
