Friday marked four weeks to the day since Gail Pitzl and her family climbed out of their house and saw the destruction the tornado left on their property south of Waterloo.
Settlement of the town on the west bank of the Elkhorn River began in the late 1860s, but it took three attempts before its incorporation in January 1883.
