A small Sikh community residing in Kabul, Afghanistan, is set to celebrate the ‘parkash purb’(birth anniversary) of Guru Gobind Singh, which is anticipated to be held in a subdued manner in the only operational gurdwara in Taliban-ruled Afghanistan on Friday. However, in neighbouring Pakistan, the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC) has outlined an elaborate celebration to mark the parkash purb across various gurdwaras in the Islamic nation.
According to Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, one of the terrorists killed was Qari Fateh, who was known as the intelligence chief and a former minister of war for the Islamic State-Khorasan Province (ISKP).
It is obvious that Pakistan is hemorrhaging, and needs to arrive at some understanding with the Taliban on several counts to stop the bleeding.
