西湖大学教授郭天南表示：一切生命的表现形式，本质上都是蛋白质功能的体现。完整意义上的蛋白质组学，能够对疾病的发生、发展、转归等过程有一个全面的认识，把握疾病诊治的关键，提高药物开发的效率。
近些年，随着蛋白质组大数据和人工智能技术的出现，正让这一研究获得了极大的加速，并展现出非常广阔的前景。
