Many heroes among us often go unrecognized for their acts of heroism. Such as it is for a former Air Force sergeant who saved two of his crewmates after an AC119G gunship crashed near Saigon in 1969.

The 50th annual remembrance of the end of the Vietnam War and the last area serviceman to die there before cease fire will be commemorated 10:3o a.m. Saturday in Linden. The last deceased serviceman was John O Neal Rucker of Linden. A memorial wreath will be laid upon his plaque at the courthouse veterans memorial monument.
