case and some directly contradict the story that authorities first told, this is the time line of the attack as we understand it now. authorities now say at 11:28 a.m. tuesday, the gunman crashed his truck and fired his rifle at two people across the street. at 11:40, 12 minutes later, the gun than fired toward the school building and then walked in through an unlocked door. he was not confronted by a school resource officer which is directly contradictory to what officials had been telling us. not accurate. he walked in unobstructed initially. so from the grandmother s house to the wreck into the school, he was not confronted by anybody. to clear the record on that. reporter: at 11:44 a.m. officers arrived at the school, the shooter fired at them, they took cover and called for more backup. authorities say officers did evacuate students and teachers from other parts of the school and at some point began negotiations with the gunman. meantime as the minutes tick by, ....

People who are already suffering. in the gun reform debate, young people again have taken the forefront. they are not afraid to fight big organizations like the nra. do you guys have a sense of how big the forces that you are fighting are? you re talking about big oil, big coal, these companies that give millions and billions of dollars to politicians. do you guys have that same sense of the kind of opponents? yes. so with the movement, this is almost a-year-old and students have been protesting every friday. it s the civil disobedience every friday that keeps up the pressure on the people in power. because of the youth movement we had opec call the movement the number one threat to the oil industry. so we continue to threaten those big oil companies. as well, we are calling people and politicians out because a lot of our politicians are persuaded by money, and they are persuaded by fossil fuel industries so we have to continuously call them out. ....

Action, going up against nra candidates, in almost all the cases losing. this is a moment, a moral moment in our country. the moral bankruptcy of those people representing corporate gun lobbies and not common sense, their days are coming to the end. if i have my way, we re going to bring a fight to the nra over the next months and years like they ve never seen before. with the will and the force, not in the partisan nature but the will and the force of american people who want freedom again, freedom from fear, freedom from this kind of level of carnage. i don t mean to get too tactical or ask you to be a pundit here, but if that s your analysis about the politics of this heading into 2020, it sounds to me like the differences of opinion among the democratic candidates about what exactly is possible, or what s the right exact policy to aim at in gun reform, might be less important when it comes to the general election than just the idea that the american public knows that the democrat ....
