EE launches 5G in Lincoln and Grantham

EE has launched 5G in Lincoln and Grantham to give customers faster speeds and greater capacity from Thursday, April 8.
They are among 35 new towns and cities to get connected to EE’s 5G network across the UK, which now includes nine in the East Midlands.
EE has added outdoor coverage to popular tourist landmarks, historical sites and coastal locations as coronavirus lockdown restrictions ease and attractions begin to open.

A controversial 5G mast in Spalding, which has sparked health concerns from residents, is set to be rejected next week, but a similar one just over two miles away could be approved.
South Holland District Council’s planning committee on Wednesday will examine Hutchison UK’s plans to build 20 metre and 18 metre masts at Wygate Park and Birch Grove respectively.
Both applications have sparked objections from residents, as well as South Holland MP Sir John Hayes. Residents said they have fears over the health implications of radio frequency fields and people’s mental health.

A 15-year-old boy is now on conditional bail after an armed robbery at the Spar store on Brayford Wharf in Lincoln.
The youths, aged 12 and 15, entered the store and proceeded to take canned drinks from the shelves between 9.45pm and 10pm on Good Friday, April 2. They were later arrested in connection with the incident.
When challenged by an employee, one of the youths produced a bladed weapon before running out of the shop. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported.

The number of COVID-19 vaccines given out in Lincolnshire last week dropped by nearly 35%, but with more than 419,000 first doses now administered, there have been four days in a row without hospital deaths.
The weekly data released on Thursday shows altogether 468,365 jabs have taken place between December 8 and April 4 a further 32,282 in the last week but a massive drop on the 49,607 jabs given the week before.
