Marks & Spencer Truro donates surplus food to CHAOS charity

A TRURO based charity ramped up the number of meals it provided to those in need over Christmas thanks to M&S’s food redistribution programme. CHAOS Group Cornwall, has provided more than 42,000 meals to vulnerable people in Truro using surplus food donated by M&S. A colleague app, launched at the start of the pandemic, is now used to notify charities when surplus food is available, helping to increase donations and stop food going to waste. Jess Strongman, CHAOS Co-ordinator at CHAOS Group Cornwall, which is providing free food boxes through its Food2Share project to those most at risk of food poverty and social isolation within the community said: “Nothing brings people together like good food, especially M&S food!
