Marwell Activity Centre. Picture: Google Streetview. PLANNING chiefs are studying proposals to build 40 holiday lodges at a Hampshire attraction that sees 25,000 visitors a year. Marwell Activity Centre is seeking consent to construct the timber lodges in a new area of native woodland at its site off Hurst Lane, Owslebury. The family-run centre, which opened about 40 years ago, is in the South Downs National Park. It originally applied for planning permission for more than 50 lodges but has now submitted a revised scheme. The application says: The revisions reduce the number of lodges from 52 to 40 to allow a spacious layout and maximise the area for native woodland.
