Labor day weekend bridge closure that will allow workers to put finishing touches on the eastern span. The work taking place is not particularly complicated. Its going to take a long time, but it is primarily moving dirt and laying asphalt, letting it cure and painting it. Watching the paint dry, you know, all those kinds of things. It is small stuff, but its important stuff. Small stuff that will not stop the bridge from opening on time or possibly even early. Its possible sometime late in the day on monday. Now these three lanes will open back up on monday morning about 5 00 a. M. They will not actually take out the actual toll booth in that new fast track lane until the bay bridge closes for labor day weekend. So again, one week out and tonight, lots of delays on the bridge. You. Were very fortunate as i probably know the Redevelopment Agency worked on this project for literally decades. The sixth street was very instrumental and the planning and land staff have intense programs that have a sixth value to a lot of folks. Weve done our best to address the retail presence, the ground floor activity ism but to have a respect for the people who ultimately areo live in this building. Weve had a lot of decisions to make along the way and i think this is as architecturally magnificent building and theyll comment on it in a positive way.
