Sweden is exploring ways to upgrade its JAS 39 C/D jets to keep them operationally relevant and is studying future fighter capabilities, potentially including an upgraded Gripen multi-role aircraft in partnership with Brazil's Embraer.
Responding to another set of reports on a possible transfer of MiG-29 jets to Ukraine, the Bulgarian MoD denied the fact that any donation as such is discussed. The Bulgarians announced: “The Ministry is engaged in successive talks on the so-called trilateral agreements , aimed at replacing some of the available armament with compatible systems provided by allied nations, but not creating circumstances in which capabilities are lost”.
