Gilford superintendent faces domestic violence charges

The superintendent of the Gilford School District is facing domestic violence assault charges stemming from a July incident in Concord and is currently on leave from the school district, according to the chair of the school board.
Kirk Bietler, 57, of Concord, is facing two charges, one of domestic violence simple assault and one of simple assault, in relation to an incident that occurred at Bietler’s Concord home near the Shaker Road School late on July 6. According to court documents, Bietler, who is identified as James K. Bietler, is accused of striking a female family member with his hand. ....
