Local roundup: Hanover girls hoop stays perfect with second win in 24 hours Natalie Morhun Modified: 1/30/2021 9:57:30 PM Stella Galanes scored as many points in the middle two periods as visiting Kearsarge did on Saturday, leading the Hanover High girls basketball team to a 72-22 win over the Cougars and a second victory over the span of less than 24 hours. The Marauders (6-0) needed Galanes to get them going with Kearsarge down only 13-7 after one quarter. Galanes proceeded to pump in 22 of her game-high 25 points in the second and third quarters as Hanover pulled away. Melissa Whitmore, a day after a career-high 24 points in a 67-41 win over Fall Mountain, contributed 16 points in Saturday’s victory. Jane Lackley added nine points, and Caroline Adams contributed eight.
