José Val del Omar fue un gran visionario y desconocido inventor, pero cuyas creaciones han sido útiles para inventos que se consideran actualmente como innovadores o revolucionarios.
A lo largo de los años 20, Val del Omar inventó lo que en aquella época se conoció como ‘
objetivo focal variable‘ y posteriormente se conocería como ‘
zoom‘. Según el inventor, lo creó para “penetrar el alma del ser humano”, aunque no llegó a patentarlo. Esto ocasionó que años después, la empresa ‘Zoomar’ le robara el mérito del proyecto y lo patentara.
