Poultry farmers question the timing of Caribbean Agro-Industries’ feed price increase

Poultry farmers in Grenada are furious about what they dubbed, a lack of reasoning on the part of Caribbean Agro-Industries, the country’s sole producer of animal feed and flour, to increase prices of feed at a time when farmers are barely making ends meet, and therefore calls on Government to intervene.
According to the farmers, the increase, which went into effect on February 3rd, four days after the communication from the company was received, left no room for negotiation, nor does it take into consideration a possible response from the poultry farmers or bakers, the people most affected by this decision. ....
