10 arrested in Johnson Co. for child solicitation

FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office arrested 10 people this week thanks to a child solicitation operation that was months in the making. Nine of the suspects were allegedly seeking sex with an underage girl.
Johnson County Sheriff Duane Burgess said law enforcement invited nine men, who reportedly intended to meet a teenager for sex, to undisclosed locations in Greenwood. Instead, they met with an undercover detective posing as an underage girl. The sting, named “Operation Firewall,” was a first for Johnson County.
Detectives apprehended three men on Tuesday, two on Wednesday, and four more on Thursday. An Avon woman who was traveling with one of the men was also taken into custody. ....

Operation Firewall leads to child solicitation arrests in Johnson County

FRANKLIN, Ind. (WISH) Johnson County officials say multiple people were arrested in a child solicitation investigation.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and the Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office announced the charges at a Friday morning press conference.
The operation started on Dec. 8.
Investigators with the sheriff’s office say detectives created a fake profile of an underage girl was created on a “sex-oriented website,” according to Johnson County Sheriff Duane Burgess.
“It turns your stomach. I don’t care who you are. How tough. This is unacceptable. We don’t want it anywhere. We’ve got to protect our children,” Johnson County Sheriff Duane Burgess explained. ....
