Commencement 2021: Guests Invited

Cal State Fullerton is pleased to announce that since certain health indicators have been met in Orange County, two guests per graduate will be allowed at the in-person commencement ceremonies, scheduled for June 12-15. Guests will still be required to wear masks and maintain social distancing guidelines. 
“This unique format will allow guests to remain with their graduate for the entire in-person experience and get a front row view of the student’s stage walk,” said Todd Frandsen, associate vice president of central development. “The guests will walk the entire way with their grad, something that will only happen this year. We are excited to offer this opportunity for our 2020 and 2021 grads.” ....

University's Day of Giving Raises More Than $450,000


Titans Rally to Support It Takes a Titan Campaign Through #TitansGive

The Titan spirit of generosity reverberated across the globe March 9 as thousands joined together to support student success via #TitansGive, Cal State Fullerton’s second annual day of giving. 
The 24-hour online event raised $454,438 for the university’s “It Takes a Titan” philanthropic campaign, nearly doubling the impact of the inaugural #TitansGive in 2020. A total of 1,405 donors from 40 states and four countries gave 1,621 gifts to support projects related to academic innovation, student empowerment, community engagement and campus transformation. 
“We are awed by the outpouring of generosity on this day of giving,” said Greg Saks, vice president for university advancement. “What a testament to the caring and commitment of the entire Titan family to helping our students and campus succeed.” ....

University to Hold Day of Giving March 9

#TitansGive, Cal State Fullerton’s annual day of giving, is an opportunity for the entire Titan family to come together (virtually) to support student success. The
March 9 event is a 24-hour online donation marathon filled with fun giving challenges, contests and sponsored matches, and all gifts go toward the university’s “It Takes a Titan” campaign.
On last year’s inaugural day of giving, Titans rallied to raise more than $230,000 in one day.
A year later, the need remains great, and has only been exacerbated by the pandemic. The university faces a growing student population; an increase in students struggling with unemployment, food insecurity and even homelessness; aging campus infrastructure; and a decline in state funding. While it is expected that the California State University system will have its previous budget cut reinstated in the new fiscal year state budget, ....
