She earned her ba from North Carolina university. She earned an ma in history from the university of North Carolina at greensboro. She is a former faculty member at city college and has taught history at several institutions. Her dissertation traces the history of gender and sexuality. Through the 1950s through the early 2000s. At the heart is the resistance and activism of young women and lgbt students. They are examined as forces that challenge administrative policies, academic offerings and cultural institutions at historically black colleges. And i want to share an article that was in the Washington Post earlier this week on the spirit of st. Louis, one of the iconic planes that Charles Lindbergh had. Its been in the news because of some of the findings and notes on the plane when it was refurbished back in 1975. Jeremy kinney is joining us, the curator. Louis is a true milestone of flight. Charles lindbergh makes that epic transatlantic flight in may 1927 and its always been a signature artifact of the smithsonian, since the building opened in 1976.
