Craig Wood, the blonde bomber of golfdom who is pro at Mamaroneck’s Winged Foot club and son of Charles Wood of this resort, won the nation’s most coveted title in the Master’s tourney at Augusta last weekend.
Wood set the pace on the opening day with a dazzling 6 under par 66 and went on to victory with a 72-hole total of 280.
Formerly known as one of the game’s longest shooters, Wood won his laurels this time largely through his wizardry with his putter. Despite the fact that he has consistently paced the field in top-flight competition for many years, this is the former local boy’s first major title. ....

This drawing represents the club house expected to be built by the Masonic lodges of several states, and will be located on several hundred acres that have been secured bordering Gull and Round Lakes near Brainerd. Each member in the Cinosam Club will have a lot of not more than 1/3 acre upon which one dwelling may be built.

County authorities, acting on a tip, raided a meth lab in Emily, arresting one man and seizing chemicals, equipment and drugs. Sgt. Neal Gaalswyk of the sheriff s office said “it was a significant amount of stuff.” Drug force agents said the lab, located in an apartment over the Log Cabin Bar, was one of the largest ever in the county. ....
