More vaccines arriving next week but roll out not fast enough says leader

Redcar and Cleveland councillors heard how surgeries in Guisborough would receive more jabs next Tuesday. But the independent leader Cllr Mary Lanigan told yesterday’s full council meeting the wider roll out in the borough “wasn’t fast enough”.  “I want to reassure members I’m working alongside the CCG (clinical commissioning group) and national health services in order to get these vaccines out in Redcar and Cleveland,” she said. “We are making progress but not fast enough. It’s only because the vaccines haven’t been readily available. “What you get on television from ministers isn’t necessarily what’s happening on the ground.
