SAGINAW COUNTY, MI - Since helping to found the Great Lakes Bay Hispanic Leadership Institute more than a decade ago, director Monica Reyes has uplifted the region’s Latino community and encourage them to pursue lives of service and leadership.
Reyes retired two years ago from her position as director of disability services at Saginaw Valley State University, but still runs the program in partnership with the university, she said. This coming year will be the organization’s 13th, its first graduating class having come in 2009, according to its website.
