Five years after she started the journey a Coast woman was overjoyed when she joined her family and friends as a proud Australian.
Kara Wills, her husband Todd Grace and their daughters Phoebe and Khia moved from New Zealand to Australia in 2008 having previously spent three months of each year living on the Coast since 2004.
Mrs Will s children gained citizenship by descent through Mr Grace five years ago, but law changes and COVID-19 dramatically delayed her permanent residency.
Her citizenship ceremony took place on Australia Day.
She was among 68 Sunshine Coast residents from 23 countries who received their citizenship. ....
