Crash between ambulance and dump truck kills two, injures two

ITASCA COUNTY, Minn. Two people are dead and two are in serious condition after an ambulance and a dump truck collided Tuesday morning in Itasca County.
According to information from the Minnesota State Patrol, an ambulance was headed south on County Road 336 in Lawrence Township around 10:20 a.m. Tuesday. A dump truck was traveling eastbound on County Road 57, and struck the ambulance on the passenger side, T-boning it.
The driver of the dump truck, 67-year old Jeffery Elvin Ekholm of Nashwauk is currently in St. Luke s Hospital in Duluth with life-threatening injuries, according to police.
The ambulance s driver, 28-year-old Kimberly Fay Hake of Cohasset also suffered life-threatening injures, and is currently hospitalized at Grand Itasca Hospital in Grand Rapids. ....

UPDATE: 2 dead, 2 Seriously Injured In Ambulance Crash With Dump Truck

UPDATE: According to a crash report from the Minnesota State Patrol two people have now been pronounced dead after the dump truck-ambulance crash.
Troy Edward Boettcher, 51, of Warba, and Joseph Michael Latimer, 17, of Grand Rapids, were killed in the crash. They were in the ambulance at the time of the crash.

At least one person is dead and at least two others are facing life-threatening injuries after an ambulance was t-boned by a dump truck in Itasca County around 10:20 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The latest incident report Tuesday night said the MEDS-1 ambulance was southbound on County Road 336 when the truck struck the passenger side of the ambulance while going eastbound on County Road 57, which is the same location a Minnesota conservation officer was killed in a crash in May. ....

HILL CITY The driver of a Saturn Vue was injured Sunday, May 23, when the vehicle collided with a tree, entered a marsh and flipped at least once in Aitkin County.
The Minnesota State Patrol was called at 12:20 a.m. to the crash. The SUV was traveling east on Highway 2 east of Hill City and northwest of Floodwood, according to the patrol. Kelsey A. Olson, 18, Grand Rapids was driving the vehicle when it crossed over the center line and into the oncoming traffic lane before running off road to the left. It then went down into the ditch, colliding with a tree and entering a marsh, flipping at least once, the state patrol reported. It came to a final rest facing the opposite way. ....

Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital was the recipient of the vaccines and the shots are available for those who are 65 years of age and older.
Health leaders say this new vaccine will push the community closer to being healthy.
