Eleventh Grand Hamdan International Award for Medical Sciences is Presented to American AI Frontrunner

The Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences (SHAMS) award ceremony, hosted from Dubai, took place at 7pm last night. Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and President of the Dubai Health Authority, the SHAMS award celebrated its eleventh term (2019-2020) and 21st year.

SHAMS was established with a view to honour researchers from every part of the world who tirelessly pursue distinctive medical research that serves the larger interest of humanity. The award ceremony of the Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences (Shams) has witnessed the honouring of ten winners across various categories.
Held under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and President of the Dubai Health Authority, the Shams award celebrated its eleventh edition (2019-2020) and 21st year, with a grand function at Burj Khalifa.

The ceremony was held virtually and Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Shams, emphasised the significance of choosing Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare, as the topic for the eleventh term of the Grand Hamdan Awards.
